Our Research

Our lab is actively applying a systems approach to study the genetics of health and disease, incorporating new statistical methods for the investigation of complex disease-related traits in the mouse.  We employ a combination of strategies to investigate the genetic basis of these complex traits. We are developing new methods and software that will improve the power of quantitative trait loci mapping and microarray analysis, as well as graphical models which aim to intuitively and precisely characterize the genetic architecture of disease. Within the Center for Genome Dynamics, we are part of a consortium of investigators with a shared interest in a holistic approach to understanding genetics from an evolutionary perspective. With an eye on the future of mouse genetics, we have also undertaken the task of establishing two new mouse resources for complex trait analysis: the Collaborative Cross and the Diversity Outbred.  Read More >less
